Miriam Steele, Office Manager and Finance Specialist
I have been married since 1982 to my wonderful husband, Chris. We have two fabulous children, Ashley & Chase, daughter in-law, Nicole, and three amazing grandchildren, Alexis, Ceriya and Kendra. We love camping, hunting, Sunday dinners and playing games as a family. We enjoy the quality time we share with our family on our small sheep farm in Genola.
We had a great time taking our children to stock shows throughout the state and now get to take our grandchildren. I love the work I do as office manager for Dr. Barrowes. It is very rewarding. I feel privileged to work for such an amazing orthodontist who loves his profession, helping people achieve great smiles. I look forward to meeting new people and enjoy the friendships I have developed with our great co-workers, patients and parents through the years.
Tiffany Robinson, Treatment Coordinator
After 11 wonderful years of working for Dr. Barrowes, it feels great that I have a part in giving our patients the smiles they have always wished for. I know I surely have enjoyed my smile from Dr. Barrowes.
As the Treatment Coordinator, each week I have the opportunity to introduce our amazing staff and office to the new patients; I am so lucky to be able to meet new friends each time I come to work.
I have lived in Spanish Fork my entire life, and I married my High School sweetheart 14 years ago. I have three beautiful daughters whom I blog and scrapbook about whenever I get the chance. I love a moist soft brownie and since I am always cold, I also love a cup of hot chocolate in the summer or winter.
Chris Remund, Insurance Specialist and Assistant Treatment Coordinator
Hi, this is Chris Remund. I am from the Sunshine State of Florida. I have enjoyed working with Dr. Barrowes for over 8 years. I am the Assistant Treatment Coordinator and the Insurance Specialist. I am the person who wrestles with you insurance company to make sure they help cover the cost of your treatment. I enjoy the day to day interaction with our patients and their families. We don't just bond brackets at Dr. Barrowes, we bond relationships as well. It is always a pleasure to see a beautiful smile and take time for a visit when I run into our patients in the community.
My husband and I were married 25 years ago in Washington D.C. I have 3 sons and 1 daughter. I enjoy playing sports. Basketball is my favorite. I have spent countless hours watching my children play Ice Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Fast Pitch Softball, Soccer, Golf...you get the point. I love the outdoors, camping, photography, and playing board games with my family.
Julie Hansen, Clinic Coordinator
10 years ago I started working for Dr. Barrowes. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It feels like yesterday when I was interning here and got hired. I feel privileged to work at a job that I love and with people and patients that are so kind. As the clinic coordinator I try to keep Dr. Barrowes on task! I am also known as the banding queen. I love to fit and cement bands. It is a pleasure to put braces on patients and watch their teeth straighten while their smiles become perfect. I have been married to my husband Bert of 9 years. We have 3 kids Jordan, Ava and Owen. We enjoy boating, camping, gardening and being with friends and family.
Ashley Shepherd, Assistant Clinic Coordinator
I was blessed with the opportunity to start working for Dr. Barrowes six years ago, and have loved coming to work ever since. I enjoy bending wires, problem solving, and meeting and learning about patients and their parents. My favorite part about being an orthodontic assistant is seeing people gain confidence with their new smiles.
In my spare time I love camping, fishing, snowboarding, and spending time with my wonderful husband of nine years, and my five wild and crazy boys.; Family is so important to me, and I am so thankful to work for such an honest, amazing orthodontist who shares the same values.
Amy Schellhous, Orthodontic Assistant
My name is Amy Schellhous and I am one of the assistants who work in the back. For the last 7 years I have worked for Dr. Barrowes and I have worked in the orthodontic field for 15 years. I have enjoyed my time as part of Dr. Barrowes' team and take pleasure in working with people who all get along with each other. I met my wonderful husband on a blind date. My family is very important to me. I have one daughter who is the oldest. She is followed by four boys with one more boy on the way. With such a large family I do not have much free time but what little I have I enjoy reading, spending time working in my yard, and visiting family.
Jazz Beltran, Orthodontic Assistant
As one of the longest employees of Dr. Barrowes, I must say, I have enjoyed all eleven years here. I have seen many patients come and go, however the enthusiasm and better self esteem of each patient, as a result of a perfect smile, can never get old. Many life long friendships began in this office, which will be wonderful to have through the rest of my life.
I'm second to oldest out of four children. I love playing many sports, boating, camping, fishing, four wheeling, snow boarding and a lot more stuff. In high school I was voted biggest flirt, and I still don't know why exactly, lol. I have been blessed with the opportunity of visiting many places in the world, and look forward to visiting many more. No! I'm not married, but I do look forward to that day. Every day at Dr. Barrowes office is a challenge to learn something new. I love working here, and I love talking and listening to the patients. I look forward to seeing you guys in your upcoming appointments, until then Adios!
Melissa Frandsen, Receptionist
My journey with Dr. Barrowes and his staff began a few years ago when I brought my son in for a consultation. Everyone was so nice and friendly I didn't just feel like another patient's mom. I always felt welcome in the office and enjoyed the atmosphere. I always looked forward to my kids appointments because I knew my kids would be well taken care of! Now I am lucky enough to be a part of this great staff!! I really enjoy greeting all the patients and getting to know their families.
I grew up in Provo with a house full of brothers, that made it easy to be "daddy's girl." I had no idea I would end up in the "country"(Spanish Fork) as I called it, but we have found it to be a great place to raise our family despite all the wind. I met my husband while going to school at what was called UVSC at the time. We have been married since 1997 and have three great kids!
As a family we enjoy road trips, swimming, watching movies and fishing on Utah Lake. In the winter we enjoy ice fishing, but I refuse to go when its too cold! We also enjoy spending time with our extended family.
Morgan Jepperson, Orthodontic Assistant and Receptionist
I got started in Dr. Barrowes' office as a patient in 2002. Throughout my treatment I always enjoyed coming to the office every chance I got to visit whether it was for an appointment or just to visit. I started interning for Dr. Barrowes in 2007, after which Dr. Barrowes asked me if I would stay and work for him as an Orthodontist assistant. I worked as an assistant for 2 ½ years before Dr. Barrowes needed someone who, ideally, had orthodontic experience working at the front desk. Since I love to greet patients by name, make them feel comfortable in our office and interact with them and their families, I am enjoying working in my current position as front desk receptionist. Outside of the office I enjoy riding my horses, camping, boating, snowmobiling and hanging out with my friends, and family!
Kathryn Martineau, Orthodontic Assistant
My first experience with Dr. Barrowes was when I was 8 years old when I began my orthodontic treatment. Since having braces here at Dr. Barrowes office (along with my 5 brothers and mother) I'm very familiar with the appliances we use here at the office and I know how they work from personal experience. When I got my braces off I was amazed at the work Dr. Barrowes had done and I wanted to be a part of helping others have a beautiful smile as well. I went to MATC and got my dental assisting my senior year of high school and interned for Dr. Barrowes that same year. Since graduating high school I've been working here as an orthodontic assistant and have loved every minute of it! I enjoy getting to know the patients here and even more helping them to a perfect smile! When I'm not at work I live for snowboarding and also enjoy other outdoor activities!
Kiley McMullin, Orthodontic Assistant and Lab Technician
Smiles are amazing, and that is why I wanted to be an orthodontic assistant. Dr. Barrowes gave me that privilege in 2009. Since then I have found that I enjoy working on patients, yet trimming pre and post-treatment plaster models and running the lab are my specialties. Trimming pre-treatment models helps me remember everyone's name and I get to see everyone's different orthodontic cases. Trimming the post-treatment models gives me the opportunity to see all of the wonderful smiles done by Dr. Barrowes. I married my husband Josh in January 2011 and we love watching movies and spending time outdoors. My hobbies are camping, snowmobiling, fishing, playing sports, and hunting. You can talk to me anytime about hunting on any day of the week. I'm an easy going kind of gal and I'll go hunting any chance I get!
Jenna Garns, Receptionist
I have been privileged to work for Dr. Barrowes since I was 8-years-old because I am fortunate enough to call him my dad. It started with me assembling charts and sharpening pencils to trimming plaster teeth models and orthodontic assisting and now to answering phones and scheduling appointments as the receptionist. I worked full time for a few years until the birth of my daughter in May 2010. Now I work one afternoon a week giving my mom a chance to have Grandma time and for me to have a nice break.
I am the youngest of 5 children and have grown up most of my life in Spanish Fork. In my growing up years I have participated in dance, softball, singing, musical theater and piano to name a few. I graduated from Spanish Fork High School and received my bachelors degree at Brigham Young University. While attending the “Y” I met my wonderful husband, whom I convinced that Spanish Fork is a great place to live, and now he is a big advocate and has tried to recruit his family.
I have grown up watching my dad look in people's mouths since I can remember. He loves what he does and has tried to be on the cutting edge doing four times more “Continuing Education” than required just for the fun of it. Not only that but he always thinks of other people before himself and wants the best possible result for each one of them. Because of this, I love to work for him because I know that people are getting the best possible treatment with a caring perfectionist at their side. I believe in what he does and love to be a part of it.
