Orthodontic Specialist in Spanish Fork, UT

I have been married since 1982 to my wonderful husband, Chris. We have two fabulous children, Ashley & Chase, daughter in-law, Nicole, and three amazing grandchildren, Alexis, Ceriya and Kendra. We love camping, hunting, Sunday dinners and playing games as a family. We enjoy the quality time we share with our family on our small sheep farm in Genola.
I have been privileged to work for Dr. Barrowes since I was 8-years-old because I am fortunate enough to call him my dad. It started with me assembling charts and sharpening pencils to trimming plaster teeth models and orthodontic assisting and now to answering phones and scheduling appointments as the receptionist. I worked full time for a few years until the birth of my daughter in May 2010. Now I work one afternoon a week giving my mom a chance to have Grandma time and for me to have a nice break.
After 11 wonderful years of working for Dr. Barrowes, it feels great that I have a part in giving our patients the smiles they have always wished for. I know I surely have enjoyed my smile from Dr. Barrowes.
Hi, this is Chris Remund. I am from the Sunshine State of Florida. I have enjoyed working with Dr. Barrowes for over 8 years. I am the Assistant Treatment Coordinator and the Insurance Specialist. I am the person who wrestles with you insurance company to make sure they help cover the cost of your treatment. I enjoy the day to day interaction with our patients and their families. We don't just bond brackets at Dr. Barrowes, we bond relationships as well. It is always a pleasure to see a beautiful smile and take time for a visit when I run into our patients in the community.
10 years ago I started working for Dr. Barrowes. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. It feels like yesterday when I was interning here and got hired. I feel privileged to work at a job that I love and with people and patients that are so kind. As the clinic coordinator I try to keep Dr. Barrowes on task! I am also known as the banding queen. I love to fit and cement bands. It is a pleasure to put braces on patients and watch their teeth straighten while their smiles become perfect. I have been married to my husband Bert of 9 years. We have 3 kids Jordan, Ava and Owen. We enjoy boating, camping, gardening and being with friends and family.
I was blessed with the opportunity to start working for Dr. Barrowes six years ago, and have loved coming to work ever since. I enjoy bending wires, problem solving, and meeting and learning about patients and their parents. My favorite part about being an orthodontic assistant is seeing people gain confidence with their new smiles.
My name is Amy Schellhous and I am one of the assistants who work in the back. For the last 7 years I have worked for Dr. Barrowes and I have worked in the orthodontic field for 15 years. I have enjoyed my time as part of Dr. Barrowes' team and take pleasure in working with people who all get along with each other. I met my wonderful husband on a blind date. My family is very important to me. I have one daughter who is the oldest. She is followed by four boys with one more boy on the way. With such a large family I do not have much free time but what little I have I enjoy reading, spending time working in my yard, and visiting family.
As one of the longest employees of Dr. Barrowes, I must say, I have enjoyed all eleven years here. I have seen many patients come and go, however the enthusiasm and better self esteem of each patient, as a result of a perfect smile, can never get old. Many life long friendships began in this office, which will be wonderful to have through the rest of my life.
In January of 2007, I started interning for Dr. Barrowes. Since he believed I was a hard worker and a quick learner, he gave me a job as an Orthodontic Assistant; I have loved working here ever since. I enjoy being able to visit with patients each day. I have fun being the assistant who removes the patient's braces, and gets to see their new confident smile. Here in Dr. Barrowes' office I met my amazing husband; he came in for a retainer check and I knew he was mine! When I'm outside the office, I like running, camping with my family, cooking a great meal, playing golf and tennis, going boating, and seeing a good movie with my husband. My advice is to remember that a smile can't be kept; it can only be given away.
I got started in Dr. Barrowes' office as a patient in 2002. Throughout my treatment I always enjoyed coming to the office every chance I got to visit whether it was for an appointment or just to visit. I started interning for Dr. Barrowes in 2007, after which Dr. Barrowes asked me if I would stay and work for him as an Orthodontist assistant. I worked as an assistant for 2 ½ years before Dr. Barrowes needed someone who, ideally, had orthodontic experience working at the front desk. Since I love to greet patients by name, make them feel comfortable in our office and interact with them and their families, I am enjoying working in my current position as front desk receptionist. Outside of the office I enjoy riding my horses, camping, boating, snowmobiling and hanging out with my friends, and family!
Smiles are amazing, and that is why I wanted to be an orthodontic assistant. Dr. Barrowes gave me that privilege in 2009. Since then I have found that I enjoy working on patients, yet trimming pre and post-treatment plaster models and running the lab are my specialties. Trimming pre-treatment models helps me remember everyone's name and I get to see everyone's different orthodontic cases. Trimming the post-treatment models gives me the opportunity to see all of the wonderful smiles done by Dr. Barrowes. I married my husband Josh in January 2011 and we love watching movies and spending time outdoors. My hobbies are camping, snowmobiling, fishing, playing sports, and hunting. You can talk to me anytime about hunting on any day of the week. I'm an easy going kind of gal and I'll go hunting any chance I get!
I married Dr. Barrowes’ oldest son Orlando (what a catch!) in 1997. We have four super kids, Luke, Cade, Cole, and Sadie. I have worked in many positions at this office, including Assistant Office Manager, Receptionist, Insurance Accounts Manager, and even Official Redecorator. Currently I work behind the scenes creating patient contests and newsletters – the fun stuff. Other fun things I enjoy include teaching children’s music classes, reading, running, experimenting in the kitchen, and improving my home and yard. Also hanging out with my family is my favorite! Together we love to play games, cook out, or go to the pool. If you have ideas for a fun contest or a great prize, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
